In this post, we’ll show you exactly how to create social media content using an AI writing assistant tool Jasper.
We’ll start from complete scratch and only use AI to help us out. We’ll even use AI to come up with a niche and content ideas for our social media posts. When writing this intro, I didn’t even know what the niche or topics will be.
So when you’re ready to learn how to use AI in content marketing, keep reading!😉
The uprise of the AI writing Assistants.
In the last few years, AI has become more and more involved in content marketing, and for a good reason!
As machine learning algorithms get better and better, they can help us automate repetitive tasks, like finding data or generating ideas.
But perhaps the most amazing thing that AI can do for content marketers is to write entire pieces of content on their own.
With the release of GPT-3, OpenAI has given the world a powerful new tool for creating AI-generated content.
GPT-3 is a machine learning platform that enables developers to train and deploy AI models.
What’s so special about GPT-3?
GPT-3 is special because it’s incredibly good at generating text. In fact, it’s so good at generating text that it can write entire articles with little interference.
How does GPT-3 work?
GPT-3 works by taking a piece of text as input and then predicting the following word in the sequence.
For example, giving GPT-3 the input “I’m writing a post about” might predict the next word as “social.”
If we then give GPT-3 the input “I’m writing a post about social,” it might predict the next word as “media.”
And so on. By making these predictions, GPT-3 can generate entire pieces of text on its own.
In order to use GPT-3, we need first to train it on a dataset of text.
The more text we can give GPT-3, the better it will be at making predictions.
Once GPT-3 is trained, we can then give it a prompt, and it will generate text based on the prompt.
For example, we could give GPT-3 the prompt “How to create social media content with AI.”
GPT-3 would then generate text based on this prompt, giving us a complete article on how to create social media content with AI.
Who is behind Open AI?
OpenAI is an AI research lab founded by several co-founders, including Jack Hughes (co-founder of Akamai Technologies) and Elon Musk (co-founder of Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink).
What is OpenAI’s goal?
OpenAI’s goal is to “advance digital intelligence in the way that is most likely to benefit humanity as a whole.”
To do this, OpenAI conducts research in several areas, including machine learning, robotics, and natural language processing.
A tsunami of AI Writing Assistant Tools.
Since the latest GPT version was such a success, you probably noticed a recent tsunami of AI Writing Assistant tools. Since it is pretty easy for developers to create a bot based on the GPT-3 framework, we are likely to see even more of those popping up in the future.
Why do we choose Jasper over others?
For this article, we’ve chosen to focus on one tool in particular: Jasper. The main reason is because of their BOSS mode feature.
Jasper (Formerly conversion.ai) has acquired shortlyAI ShortlyAI was one of the only ones that allowed commands such as “Write a list of benefits of using a laptop over desktop” or “Rewrite text above in a more conversational style”.
This feature has jasper integrated now in their BOSS mode.
With the BOSS mode, you can give Jasper a command, and it will carry out the task. For example, you could say “Give me a list of dog treats,” and Jasper would automatically generate a list of dog treats for you.
This is an incredible time-saving feature, and it’s one of the reasons why we recommend Jasper over other AI writing assistants.
You can also give it more specific instructions, such as “write a paragraph about the benefits of social media for businesses.”
This is incredibly powerful because it allows you to get the AI to write specific parts of an article for you.
NOTE: You can’t give it a command as in ” Write an article of 2000 words for me” or even crazier “write a book of 60 000 words”. And thinking about it, it’s better that it can’t.
Copies your writing style.
Like any other writing application, you’ll have an empty document in the BOSS mode. The only difference is that you’ll be able to click a button and have the AI take over and start writing a few sentences for you.
You can then keep editing, changing, and improving the text as you see fit. Or you can simply let the AI finish the article for you. It also reads back (Up to 3000 characters) to copy your writing style, so it’s harder to tell the difference.
Jasper is one of the few AI writing tools that offer this kind of functionality. And we think it’s mighty.
Own AI Learning System
The last and final reason is that Jasper has its own AI learning system. So the more we all (All Jasper users) use it, the better it will get at understanding your needs and writing style. I have seen a significant improvement since I first tried this tool in 2021.
This is in contrast to most other AI writing tools, which solely rely on the GPT-3 framework.
These are the main reasons we’ve decided to focus on Jasper for this article.
Social media Content Writing Action Plan.
For this little project, we’ll start from complete scratch. We don’t even know the niche we want to write about yet.
We’ll only use Jasper and no other tools. We’re not even going to use Google to search for ideas.
The plan is to use Jasper to develop a niche, topics to write about, and writing actual social media posts.
So without further ado, let’s get started.
Picking a random niche.
The first thing we need to do is to come up with a niche.
While let’s ask Jasper if he knows any good niches…
So we start by writing a command something like:
“Give me a list of niches that works well on Social media.”
– Beauty and fashion
– Food and recipes
– Home decor and gardening
Now we have an option to choose from. For this example, let’s pick Auto-insurance. This is not a common niche which makes it a bit more of an exciting challenge.
Create content pillars.
Now that we know our niche, we can start developing content pillars.
Content pillars are basically the main topics you want to write about in your niche.
For example, if we were in the fashion niche, our content pillars could be something like:
– “How to dress for your body type.”
– “The latest fashion trends.”
– “How to accessorize your outfits.”
Now, instead of googling or brainstorming topics, why not ask Jasper!
So I wrote the command:
“Write me a list of content pillars on auto-insurance.”
– Auto-insurance basics
– How to get auto-insurance
– Types of auto-insurance
– Discounts on auto insurance
– What to do after an accident
Yeah, I think we can work with that!
Find content ideas.
Now that we have our content pillars, it’s time to find ideas for actual social media posts.
Again, we’ll use Jasper to help us with this.
So I wrote the command:
“Generate social media post ideas about Auto-insurance basics.”
– 10 Auto-insurance basics everyone should know
– What to do when you get in a car accident
– How to get the best rates on car insurance
– How to choose the right car insurance for you
I think these are some pretty good ideas that we can work with!
Now let’s move on to the next content pillar.
Command: “Generate social media post ideas about How to get auto insurance.”
– How to get auto insurance if you’re a high-risk driver
– The best ways to get cheap car insurance
– How to get auto insurance if you have a bad driving record
– How to get auto insurance without a car
These are all great ideas that would make for great social media posts!
On to the next one!
“Generate social media post ideas about types of auto insurance.”
– 10 Types of Auto-Insurance You Should Know About
– How to Choose the Right Type of Auto-Insurance
– The Different Types of Car Insurance Explained
– What are the Most Common Types of Auto Insurance?
Friendly reminder these outputs are untouched. I gave Jasper a topic, and it spits out some ideas for social media posts.
Pretty cool, huh?
Let’s do the last one.
“Generate social media post ideas about discounts on auto insurance.”
– 10 Ways to Get Discounts on Auto Insurance
– How to Get the Best Discounts on Auto Insurance
– The Top 5 Discounts on Auto Insurance
– How to Get the Most Out of Your Auto Insurance Discounts
These are all great ideas for social media posts that we can use to help our audience save money on their car insurance!
Now that we have our ideas, it’s time to write the actual social media content.
We’ll use Jasper’s “Content Writer” command to help us with this.
First, we will write a post about the 6 auto-insurance basics everyone should know.
So I wrote:
“Write a list of 6 auto-insurance basics everyone should know.”
– You must have auto insurance to drive
– Bodily injury liability protects you if you injure or kill someone while driving
– Property damage liability covers damages to other people’s property
– Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage protects you if you’re in an accident with someone who doesn’t have enough insurance
– Collision covers damages to your car after an accident
– Comprehensive covers damages to your car from things other than accidents, like theft or weather
Boom! We now have content that would work great for a listicle carousel post or even an IG reel.
NOTE: You do need to fact-check things. Jasper has a wild imagination sometimes. (Yes, it can even write novels if you ask him to.) I left it exactly as it is to see the different types of content that it can generate.
Now the only thing we need is a caption. I do this by leaving the above list on the page and writing the following command underneath.
“Explain the above text in a lovely tone of voice.”
“You need to have auto insurance to drive. This is a type of insurance that helps protect you if you injure or kill someone while driving. It also covers damages to other people’s property. If you are in an accident with someone who doesn’t have enough insurance, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage will help protect you. Collision coverage helps pay for damages to your car after an accident. Comprehensive coverage helps pay for damages to your car from things other than accidents, like theft or weather.”
The above does need a little tweak here and there, but it’s a good start.
Another fun way to write a caption is to use the command “Write the above text in the AIDA framework.”
Attention: Do you need car insurance?
Interest: You must have auto insurance to drive. Car insurance protects you financially if you are in an accident. There are different types of coverage, so it’s important to understand what is available to you.
Desire: Collision and comprehensive coverage will protect your car if it is damaged in an accident or by something other than an accident. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage protects you if you are in an accident with someone who doesn’t have enough insurance.
Action: Call your insurance agent to discuss your options, or shop around for a new policy.
This framework is perfect for carousel posts with a clear call to action at the end.
Turn them into Carousels.
After you wrote your content, it’s time to turn them into carousels.
If you haven’t already you can use our toolkit “The Carousel Madness Pack” to speed run the creation process.
There you have it! You now know how to create social media content using AI. This process can be used for any topic, not just auto insurance. Try it out and see what kind of content you can come up with. And if you need help, our team at Jasper is always happy to lend a helping hand.
